Joel Peed will be our guest speaker for the Special Missions contribution this coming Sunday. Joel and his wife Christi decided in December of 2005 to leave Omaha, where Joel was the evangelist of the church and plant an ICOC church in the Chippewa Valley of Wisconsin, where Christi is from. They moved there in April of 2006 with their 3 young children and a vision that God could use them. The church started with 11 members, including themselves and was meeting in Joel and Christi’s house. They soon outgrew their house as a meeting place, and now meet in a coffee house that they use free of charge. They had 40 people at their Easter service this year, and Joel is now looking for new meeting space.

They have had several baptisms, and many people are visiting this new church plant every week. Joel works 30 hours a week at Old Navy, as well as being supported part-time by the church. Our goal is to give the Chippewa Valley church $8000, and help Joel cut back his hours at Old Navy so he can spend more time as the evangelist of this exciting new church planting!
