Jon was born in Santa Monica, CA in 1971 and was the son of musician Bill Augustine. His hobbies growing up were surfing and playing piano. John was trained in classical voice while attending Santa Monica High School by Mrs. Linda Allen and was awarded the Steve Lawrence/Edie Gorme vocal scholarship to UCLA's School of Fine Arts in vocal performance. In 1991, while attending UCLA, Jon appeared on five episodes of the TV show Star Search, making it to the semi-finals of the competition. Jon also became a Christian in 1991 through the UCLA campus outreach of the Los Angeles Church of Christ. Jon entered the ministry upon graduation and married his wife Lori, who also graduated from UCLA. They have three children, Jake, Luke and Sophia.

In 2004, Jon and his family moved to Sacramento, CA, where Jon has pursued his performing career. That year Jon also produced his first CD, entitled, "Jon Augustine," including six original songs written and performed by Jon. In 2004, Jon also entered and won Ryan Seacrest's LA radio show, "Be a Star." He won a $10,000 first prize and a Volkswagen beetle! In 2006, Jon released another album, this time in the Christian gospel genre, entitled, "Carry Me Home."
What a privilege and a treat it is to have Jon coming to Wichita to perform sponsored by the Wichita Church of Christ! Let's all take advantage of this great opportunity to invite our families, friends and coworkers to come out this special weekend and enjoy a Christian concert put on by a professional musician from our family of churches.
